Two Great Reviews: Check Them Out!

Do you love the High School Musical Movies? If you do, then you'll love the Stories From East High: Battle of the Bands. I read this book and it was great! I think you're gonna love it!The story is based on High School Musical and High School Musical 2. This story is about East High's very first battle of the bands. Anyone can enter: groups, duets, or solos. Sharpay formed a girl group with drama club friends Alicia and Charlotte, and Taylor McKessie from the chemistry lab. Troy has formed a guy group with his basketball buddies, Chad, Zeke, and Jason. While all this is happening, Gabriella and Ryan are left in the shadows. While everyone is making music, Gabriella signed up to tutor another student and Ryan signed up to be tutored by antother student. Then they find out that Gabriella is tutoring Ryan! Then, Ms. Darbus talked Gabriella into doing a solo for the battle of the bands. So she starts working on her song with Kelsi. Then Sharpay screams at Ryan and accidentally loses her voice. Will Sharpay's voice come back in time for her to win, or will she just have to give up this award?Read:High School Musical: Stories From East High: #1 Battle of the Bands.

The Tale of Despereaux By: Kate DiCamillo. The Tale of Despereaux is a wonderful story filled with love, danger, mice, and rats. There are four different parts to this story. Part 1:Part one is about Despereaux Tilling, a small mouse with large ears and who was born with his eyes open and not like other mice. Despereaux gets in trouble and is sent to the dungeon.Part 2:Part two is about Chiaroscuro, a rat who is not like other rats who live in the dungeon- he loves light. One day, he goes upstairs to the light and falls into the queen's soup and the queen. . . You'll have to read the book to find out that part.Part 3:Part three is about Miggery Sow, a girl who's pa sold her to another man for a handful of cigarettes, a red tablecloth, and a hen. Then, later, she is taken to the castle.Part 4:Part four is about Miggery and she becomes a part of a rat's evil plan. Except Miggery doesn't know that the plan is evil. There is much, much more to the story, but if you want to find out more, check out the book about a mouse, a princess, some soup, and a spool of thread.

Miss Laurie's note: The Tale of Despereaux will be receiving the big-screen treatment soon; look for it in theaters. But remember: the book is almost always better!
