Somebody likes...

Shoo, Fly Guy! by Tedd Arnold. This book was very funny and good. A easy reading book for beginning reader.

Mark likes George and Harold

George and Harold are so naughty...just like me! They always seem to cause the main problem. By the end of the book, they found a way to fix it. That is definitely one of the reasons this book is so hilarious.

One from Madison

"Who is Pippi Longstocking?" Well, Pippi Longstocking is a young orphan girl who thinks her mother is an angel and her father is "King of the Natives." She meets two very well mannered chidren named Tommy and Annika who live next store to "Villa Villekulla", which by the way is Pippi's house. Pippi has extrordanary adventures. She turns into a thing finder, is an acrobat, and goes on an expedition.

Pippi Longstocking is by Astrid Lindgren.

Do you like sports? Anonymous does!

A summer favorite will probably be Heat by Mike Lupica. Everyone loves baseball, right? Well, Michael Arroyo especially does! He is the best pitcher on the team. But the problem is, someone doesn't like that he can do what he does best. Pitch. So he accuses him of being older than he should be. When he is taken off the team, he needs to find his birth certificate. But it's back in Cuba. With the help of his favorite baseball player, a mysterious girl, and hope, he could make it back to baseball. Or end up watching on the sidelines.

A Historical Fiction Favorite

I recommend reading Hang A Thousand Trees With Ribbons by Ann Rinaldi. It is a book about Phillis Wheatley. She was a slave at first, but her family who bought her was nice. When their son, Nathaniel, teaches her to read and write, she starts to write poems. Through the tough times of losing her mom and not seeing a friend, to the good times of having a book and getting married, she had courage.

Brady recommends...

Take Me Out to the Ballgame. There was a boy who played baseball. He played with his brother in baseball. One day he hit a home run into a swimming pool. This book is a great story showing how if someone practices hard then they can make it to the Major Leagues.

The Rat on the Boat. This book is about a rat that did not like boat class, but his Dad sent him there. There was a hard part that he had to do which is to fix the mast. You will have to read this great book to find out what happens.

It is very good. I liked reading it because it takes me to a new world. I love all the characters in it. It is so fun reading it. And I wish I could be in the book doing all these cool things with them. When I look at the pictures they are very good. Because when I look at the pictures, the people kind of look real. I like that Simon keeps all these cool pets. But my favorite are Jeffrey and Lemondrop. They are the mice. I like the Bogart. I like when Jared reads the book about the faries and the brownies and the troll. It is so fun. I like when they made a new house for Bogart. I liked when Jared and Simon went into the dumb waiter. One of Miss Laurie's Favorite Summer Reads

I loved Diane Stanley's The Mysterious Case of the Allbright Academy. Fran and her siblings are given scholarships to the Allbright Academy, a "practically perfect" private school. But maybe things aren't perfect after all...can Fran and her new friends solve the mystery? If you liked The Mysterious Benedict Society, I think you'll like this one.
